Hey, y’all. I’m Angelica Jade Bastién. I am a writer, essayist, and film critic. I have been on staff at New York Magazine’s site Vulture since 2017. I have also written for many other publications including Harper’s Bazaar, Criterion Collection, and The Atlantic. Beyond writing, I have appeared on podcasts including New York Times’ Cannonball, The Bechdel Cast, Blank Check, and We Hate Movies, live TV, and documentary series like CNN’s Reframed: Marilyn Monroe (2022). In 2022, I was nominated for a National Magazine Award (ASMEs) for three pieces I wrote at Vulture. I am available for freelance writing, podcasts, panel moderation, lectures, public speaking, and more. You can read more about me on the ‘about’ page.
